Petur joined the board in September 2003.  An Icelandic national, he moved to the UK in 1981 from his native country Iceland to work as an agency manager for J. Marr & Son Ltd, mainly looking after Icelandic fishing vessels.  In 1986 he founded his own company, Isberg Ltd, located in Hull but with a subsidiary company in Grimsby.

This company was one of the founding shareholders of Grimsby Fish Dock Enterprises Ltd. He returned with his family to Iceland in 1997 but has kept close ties with the Humber region ever since.

Petur is married to Margret.  They have four grown up children and six grandchildren.  His hobbies are fishing and golf.
